Rules for Contests

We encourage competition in this new sport to help it grow.  Here are a few guide lines for everyone to follow to make it fair and fun for all those competing.  
 
Hold a Pea Shooting contest in your area.  
 
RULES

 

 - All pea shooters must be regulation length -12 inches. 
 - Only real whole dried peas may be used. 
 - A contestant can choose the peas he uses beforehand for roundness. 
 - Regulation targets must be used - pie plate and plastic milk container 
(PRESS HERE)   
 - Flared end pea shooters and holders are okay in this competition. 
 - No laser guided pea shooters allowed.  
 - Pea shooters equipped with sites are legal. 

 

 
EVENTS TO BE HELD

 

 - FIRST SHOT - 10 peas at 15 feet away, shot within 30 seconds - 1 point each pea inside the target
 - SECOND SHOT - 10 peas at 20 feet away, shot within 30 seconds - 2 points each pea inside the target  
 - SINGLES MASS SHOT - A person has 10 seconds to shoot as many peas they can at target - 1 point each pea inside target
 - LONG SHOT - a person gets 10 peas to shoot in 30 seconds at a target 30 feet away.
 - FIRST TEAM SHOT -  2 people shoot at the same target at the same time, they have 30 seconds to do this with 10 peas each. 1 point each inside target. 
 - SECOND TEAM SHOT -  Mass shoot -10 seconds to shoot: 15 feet away all the peas they can at a container that collects the peas - 1 point each pea inside target.

SAFETY RULES

* Never aim or shoot at people or animals

* Adult supervision is recommended when playing with a pea shooter
